Pilar de la Horada is the most Southern town in the province of Alicante. From here southwards the Costa Blanca (Comunidad Valencia) changes its name and is called Costa Calida (Murcia Region).
Pilar de la Horadada is a typical Spanish town, located 2 km from the coast offering all facilities and services, many good restaurants offering the local cuisine to a very high standard. Especailly interesting if you think to buy a proeprty in the Pilar de la Horadada area might be the small towns along the coast line of Pilar de la Horadada called Torre de la Horadada and Mil Palmeras. Property in Torre de la Horadada are mainly new built townhouses and bungalows, being the maximum height of two stories. About 4 km inland you will find golf properties on Lo Romero Golf with and good offer of detached villas and townhouses on this nice golf course.
The area offers a typical Mediterranean climate, with cool sea breezes in summer and protection by surrounding mountains against the North winds in winter. Here you can enjoy more than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year and an average temperature which easily exceeds 20 degrees.
The surroundings are mainly fruitful farmland with vegetables, oranges, lemons, figs, peaches, melons apart from pine woods which invite for long strolls and rides on the bycilcle through the nature.
